The Happy Hill B&B and Self-catering accommodation is located in Knysna at the beautiful Garden Route of South Africa.
The Garden Route runs along the coast line between Mossel Bay and Plettenberg Bay and is surrounded by the Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean.
The Happy Hill Guest House and B&B is a typical wooden house and lies on top of Knysna-Heights, a quiet and green suburb on top of a hill overlooking Knysna and the famous lagoon.
From the southside of the guest house you have stunning views on the whole coastline of Knysna, from the other side you have a overview in the green mountains and the Kynsna forest.
The Garden Route National Park and the Simola golf course are also in close proximity to the guest house.
We are a small up-market guest house and B&B in Knysna with spacious and comfortable rooms, DSTV, air condition and a wonderful pool area in the garden.
You can refresh yourself in the saltwater pool, take a sunbath on the deckchairs or have a relaxed time in our lapa.
Alternatively you can take a sun downer drink or a braai at the barbeque area with views on the Knysna lagoon.
In the winter season or on cold days guest of the B&B are welcome to use the scandinavian sauna(extra charge).
We love to go hiking in the wonderful Knysna forest. Our guests are very welcome to join us for a walk through the Garden Route National Park.

Knysna is the heart of the Garden Route, it has about 60.000 inhabitants and is one of the favourite tourist destination of South Africa. The town of Knysna has won the "The prettiest town in South Africa-Award" for several times. A primeval forest belt is surrounding Knysna, where the last forest elephants live and where some of the trees are more then 650 years old. You will find some excellent forest hiking trails for all standards and also several beautiful picnic areas - Nature at its Best. The Knysna lagoon is one of the few places in the world where oysters are regulary farmed and deliver an exceptional quality. Every year in July Knysna is the host of the famous Oyster Festival where tourists from all over the world come to enjoy this excellent quality of the oysters.

Knysna provides an infrastructure of european standards and the attractive town centre has a large variety of shops, restarurants and scenic areas.
The Knysna Waterfront likewise has a fantastic view on the Knysna Heads and the historical harbour.
A lot of artists reside in Knysna which gives visitors a wide selection of art, craft shops and markets with wood and leather artworks.
For the active traveler Knysna awaits you with excellent golf facilities and all kinds of water sports.
We are proud to have three golf clubs, two of them - Simola and Pezula are championship golf courses with most fantastic views as well as challenging golf experiences.
Furthermore sailing, waterski, canoeing, surfing, paragliding, horse riding, abseiling and fantastic mountain bike tours are offered around Knysna.
Visitors of Knysna should not miss a game drive at the Rhino Base Camp or the Bird of Eden Nature Park next to the famous Monkeyland, the Snake Farm and of course the Knysna Elephant Park.
A really nice day trip is the steam boat ferry from the Waterfront to the Featherbed Nature Reserve which includes a tractor ride to the top and an easy walk with spectacular views back down to enjoy the included lunch.
Another fanatastic day trip leads you to an ostrich farm in Oudtshoorn - the capital of the ostriches or go for a thrilling Canopy-Tour in the Tsitsikamma Forest.
